By using Cueup, you agree to abide by our terms and policies, including our Terms of Service, which we reserve the right to enforce at our sole discretion. In the event of repeated or severe violations, we may suspend or permanently deactivate a user's profile or account. In order to protect our community, we prohibit the behaviors listed below.
In this article
- Moving current, future, or repeat bookings off of Cueup
- Failing to disclose booking fees at the time of booking
- Payment for any booking fee off of Cueup
- Asking organizers for, or using, contact or identity information in ways unrelated to their event
- Taking people off of the Cueup platform for feedback and reviews
Moving current, future, or repeat bookings off of Cueup
This includes:
- Asking or encouraging users to move current, future, or repeat bookings (including extensions or follow-up events) off of Cueup
- Including links that take people off of the Cueup platform in profiles or messages
- Offering or soliciting discounts to book off of Cueup
- Canceling existing full or partial bookings to rebook off of Cueup
Failing to disclose booking fees at the time of booking
This includes:
- Failing to include any mandatory fees in the pricing fields provided by Cueup or otherwise causing the total price at booking confirmation to be inaccurate
- Mandatory fees are costs that organizers must pay given the scope of the booking (event duration, location, equipment needs, guest count). Examples of mandatory fees include travel fees, accommodation fees, equipment or backline fees, setup and teardown fees, overtime fees, and taxes (see exception below).
- All mandatory fees must be disclosed in the appropriate fee field or in the agreed booking total if there is no applicable fee field.
- Failing to use Cueup's booking modification tools to collect payment for changes to event duration, scope, or equipment requirements
- Failing to disclose any required deposits as part of the booking. Most artists are not allowed to charge a separate security deposit. For the limited instances in which deposits are permitted, they must be disclosed at the time of booking.
Exception: In locations where Cueup does not collect taxes or where artists are legally required to collect them directly from organizers, artists must disclose taxes in the booking description.
Payment for any booking fee off of Cueup
Requesting, sending, or receiving payments outside of Cueup is prohibited. This includes the cost of the booking and fee payments related to bookings (e.g., optional fees for extended hours or additional equipment).
Exception: In locations where Cueup does not collect taxes or where artists are legally required to collect them directly from organizers, artists are permitted to collect disclosed taxes off of Cueup.
Asking organizers for, or using, contact or identity information in ways unrelated to their event
This includes:
- Asking organizers for contact information prior to a confirmed booking; all pre-booking communications must take place on Cueup
- Soliciting organizers for their email, phone number, or other communication channels using the Cueup messaging system or email alias for purposes unrelated to the event
- Asking organizers to send photos of their government ID prior to the event except where required for legal, venue, or compliance reasons as outlined below
- Using contact information provided by Cueup for other purposes that violate our Terms of Service
- Selling, sharing, or using organizer contact information for marketing communications or signing organizers up for contact lists
Exceptions:
- Cueup Pro members may share their own contact details directly with organizers and leads as part of their Pro membership. Pro status does not exempt members from any other part of this policy — bookings, payments, and reviews must still take place on Cueup.
- After a booking is confirmed, artists and organizers may exchange contact details to coordinate the event itself (load-in, day-of logistics, on-site communication).
- You may require additional contact or identity information if it is required for legal, venue, or compliance reasons (such as security clearance for a private event, age verification for a licensed venue, or local regulations). In such instances, artists must include information about what is required and why in their profile or in the booking conversation before confirmation. Artists are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable data privacy laws.
- You may use an alternative means of communicating with an organizer if requested by the organizer after booking (ex: chat app), however, you must ensure such communications comply with the other requirements of this policy.
Taking people off of the Cueup platform for feedback and reviews
You may not ask organizers to review a Cueup booking on a non-Cueup website or fill out a survey regarding a Cueup booking on a non-Cueup website (such as a form off of Cueup). These actions take valuable input about an organizer's experience away from the Cueup community. We want organizers to share their feedback directly on Cueup so that other organizers may benefit from their insights.
